REQUIREMENTS:
- Church sponsor or faculty sponsor,
student leader, assistant student leader, missionary
coordinator

WHAT
TO BRING:
- Light clothing (Decent clothes that
are not revealing)
- Teaching materials and public speaking
outlines
- 2 suitcases allowed per campaigner
(Dedicate one for personal belongings and the
other for material such as tracts, Bibles,
and teaching tools)
- Consider bringing inexpensive but
US-made gifts for the host and friends you will meet
(e.g. thank you card, bible etc.)
- Plane ticket money $1000.00 by March

4 WEEKS INTENSIVE
EVANGELISM IN ONE PLACE:
- Conduct Bible studies every day
(minimum of 2 per day)
- Have1 day off per week (your choice)
- Live with locals, eat with locals
- Work with local Christians (local
partners)
- Convert at least one soul per campaigner
- Conduct daily Bible studies and
tract distribution
- Meet people in malls, streets, market
places, colleges, etc .
DAY ORIENTATION
UPON ARRIVAL:
- Suggested arrival point: Cebu City
(orientation site)
- With local workers and American
missionaries
- One or two sessions with native
psychologist (cultural & Filipino psychology)
- Strategy, planning, cultural orientation,
language, group harmony and local integration
1 WEEK TOUR AROUND
THE COUNTRY VISITING CHURCHES:
- Visit Sunrise Christian College
and other preaching schools
- Visit churches from Manila to Mindanao
- Ride boats, buses, jeepneys, etc.
- Boat ministry
- Tract distribution
SIDE TRIP:
- 1 week trip to Hong Kong to see
another Asian country (optional cost side trip with
limited campaign program)
- COST: $2700 This includes plane,
food, accommodation, transportation, materials,
emergency money, etc. Personal expenses not included,
such as souvenirs, entertainment,
etc.
SUGGESTED DAILY
ROUTINE:
- Lunch together
- Prayer and devo
- Meeting about the day's strategy
- Field work till night up to midnight.
Documentation of prospects and progress report
for follow-up purposes.
- Meeting and discussions about the
previous day's encounters (1-2 hrs)
- This process is repeated every day
for four weeks.
SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES
FOR PREPARATION:
- Read encyclopedia info. about the
Philippines (Internet OK).
- Interview Filipinos or American
missionaries you know.
- Communicate via e-mail with missionaries,
local leaders, or young people there. Seek
their advice and assistance.
- Memorize at least 100 Ilocano words
if you will work in Ilocano speaking areas, Cebuano
for the Visayas and Mindanao, and Tagalog for the Manila
area.
- Prayer and fasting.
- Learn how to conduct Bible studies.
Consider different methods: WBS, LTS, Fishers
of Men, Jule Miller, Ivan Stewart, etc. Make your own
system of Bible study
if you do not have one yet. Seek guidance from your preachers
or elders.
BASIC YES-YES:
- Smile a lot, even when it's hot
- Be very friendly. (Be nice to all:
you won't go wrong with this.)
- Respond to peoples' hospitality
(positively, if at all possible).
- Work tirelessly (rain or shine).
- Respect the culture and people.
Remember, different does not necessarily mean better
or worse than what you are used to.
- Pray a lot (with "bended knees"
and contrite heart).
- Show genuine concern for others.
- Work in harmony with your group
and the locals.
- Try learning the language and speak
it as often as you can. A word or two will go
a long, long way.
- Respect and support your leaders
(American and local).
- Do not hesitate to voice your concerns
or problems to your leaders. Your safety is
a priority.
- Be like Jesus. He is the greatest
missionary that ever lived.
Basic NO-NO's:
- No complaining while campaigning.
- No dating while campaigning.
- No revealing clothing . Shorts must
be knee length.
- DO NOT drink tap water (just bottled).
- No going out alone.
- Avoid over-jingoistic displays of
state or school pride.
